本书是对过去30多年来国内功能学界在翻译研究领域所做研究工作的系统梳理，目的有二：一是便于读者把握系统功能语言学视角下的翻译研究在我国的发展路线图及研究概貌；二是通过系统梳理，尝试找出学界目前尚未涉及或尚未解决的的有关功能翻译研究方面的课题并作简要讨论，以期对今后功能翻译的研究有一定的启发性。
